Madonna di Campiglio, a discreet and elegant town nestling at an altitude of 1550 metres in the stupendous valley between the Brenta Dolomites and the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella, is today most certainly Italy’s number one ski resort as well as one of the most important resorts in the Alps.

The variety of its mountain surroundings mean that in winter it is possible to ski over countless kilometres of runs, up to an altitude of 2600 metres and with different degrees of difficulty.

What’s more, you can set out from the centre of the town and return there without ever removing your skis.

Today the Ski Area can boast 57 lifts and 150 km of ski runs, with a capacity of more than 31,000 people per hour, 50,000 sq m of snow park, 40 km for Nordic skiing and the link up to the pistes to Pinzolo, Folgarida and Marilleva.

Madonna di Campiglio is famous for its high life, but just a short way out of town you will find a round of lakes, valleys, streams, malghe (alpine shepherds’ huts) and refuges.

The fifty thousand hectares of the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, together with four hundred and fifty km of mountain paths offer incredible opportunities for those wishing to walk or mountain bike through the cool fir woods and enchanting larch forests.
